Newbury’s most famous and popular raceday. In 2007 we woke up to crisp blue skies and let’s hope the fine winter weather continues in 2008. The feature race is of course the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, won in 2007 by the awesome Denman. The race consistently attracts a host of top class horses and 2008 will be no exception with many trainers, including Paul Nicholls with Denman, making early plans to target this race with their best horses.
You’ll be able to enjoy champions from years past with the ever popular Parade of Champions prior to racing. The race is supported by the Grade 1 Long Distance Hurdle, won in 2007 by Inglis Drever who made history by completing the hat trick in this top class event.
Linger after racing and browse around our excellent shopping village or soak up the atmosphere provided by one of our live music acts in both the Grandstand and Premier Enclosures.
