ROA Racecourse of the Year 2010
Newbury won the coveted title of Racecourse of the Year in the ROA Horseracing Awards for an unprecedented sixth time in 2010. Voted for by ROA members, the award recognises the most owner-friendly course.
ROA Gold Standard
Newbury Racecourse was the first major racecourse in the south of England to receive a national accolade from the country’s racehorse owners. The award of the ‘Gold Standard’ plaque by the Racehorse Owners Association was first presented in 2006 and has been awarded again each year since.
The award recognises overall excellence in the raceday experience for owners, their horses and stable staff, and it is reviewed annually. Newbury is one of just 11 racecourses among the 60 in Britain to receive the coveted Gold Standard.
Racegoers Club South West Racecourse of the Year 2010
The Racegoers Club awards are voted for by the Club’s 5,000-strong membership which is widely recognised as being the heart of British racegoing with its members going racing on average 31 times per year.
Newbury Racecourse won Racecourse of the Year Awards for the South West region, a title it retained from last year.
