Newbury's most famous fixture, the Sportingbet Winter Festival featuring the Hennessy Gold Cup, regularly attracts the biggest stars in racing as well as a host of celebrity racegoers.
In 2011, the Sportingbet Winter Festival took place on Thursday November 24th, Friday November 25th and culminated on Saturday November 26th with Hennessy Gold Cup Day.
A fitting climax was provided by Carruthers and jockey Mattie Batchelor whose heroics proved to be immensely popular with delighted racegoers.
Other highlights included Friday's Gentleman's Day, the Doncaster Bloodstock Sales and White Room After Party.
